My FUcking Face
My Fucking Face is a video installation and examination of Cetto’s involvement in a generation’s need to document the self. When in exhibition, My Fucking Face is played on a loop as a large-scale projection. The availability of digital photography inserted into hand-held devices and computers has changed the way we make and view photographs. Stylized self-portraits are an important part of the visual vocabulary of the Millennial Generation, acting as a popular standard for representations of digital identity. The result of this shared self-portraiture resembles communal narcissism, utilizing the Internet and social media as a digital campfire for continual distribution, surveillance, and reflection.
